WHAT IS THE WAY FORWARD FOR THE NIGERIA RAILWAY CORPORATION

The Nigerian Railway Corporation has its origin traceable to the year 1898  (120 years) . The centenarian which had its first railroad constructed by the British colonial Masters, has had its name being associated with incompetent management, Lack of Maintenance of rail and Locomotive assets.
Little wonder, the Corporation declared it had gone bankrupt which led to a six-month stall of railway traffic in 1988. Even after continued operation, the problem of bankruptcy still resurfaced in 2002 before it was Plunged into its current state starting with the revitalization planning process that began in 2006.
It is very sad and disheartening that the railway system has made very little advancement, since it began operations over a century ago. Issues ranging from Lack of Operational facilities and equipment s, poor revenue generation, poor capital, among others.
Albeit, the federal government is making some efforts in revitalizing the sector.

What do you think needs to be done to make Nigerian Railways great?
